When the year comes to an end, every person starts making their list of resolutions for the next year but these cookies were based on realistic goals that college students will actually be able to attain, and many of them were specialized to a lot of the jokes and traditions of the college attended by those who would be eating them. The experience I learned from these was using Royal icing for the first time on sugar cookies. It took a practice batch before making the ones for friends where I experimented with how thick I needed to make the cookies so they were not crispy and burnt as well as how much time to actually cook them for so they are golden but not burnt. I did not have toothpicks which is what was advised to spread the icing around so I used the small icing tip and spread it as I piped it on with a piping bag. The writing was done using Wilton decorating pens which also took some practice to use without them bleeding and breaking through the royal icing. Overall, they were relaxing and fun to make and will definitely be using Royal icing again in the future in various colors and shapes!
