These were made for a Fourth of July party. No surprise there, right? Anyway, this was the first time I ever made cake pops. Let me tell you…..I fell in love with them! Not just the taste of them, which was divine by the way, but also just making them. There are so many styles you can do with cake balls. They can be completely casual party dessert like these or extremely fancy decked out with chocolate swirls and all. I must say one of my favorite parts of making them was getting to destroy a regular sheet cake just to mix it with icing and then put it into little balls. How often do you get to make a cake and get to destroy it without wasting it? And trying different ways of dipping them into the chocolate to get the smoothest possible finish is always fun. In the future, I would like to make more extravagant cake balls!
