For my sister’s birthday picnic this past labor day, I made cake balls. After the usual joy of destroying the cake and mixing the icing in, I rolled them into balls and chilled them in the freezer for about 30 minutes. Then, covered them using a spoon and swirling motions to give it a rose like texture on the outside. I used a stick to hold them while I iced them but then took it out and filled with hole with pink candy melt chocolate to avoid having a bunch of sticks. I used dark cocoa candy melts and white ones to do the design and wrote 23 on the last few after running low on time and having homework to finish before going out of town for the day. It was a fun task and a very welcome alternative to studying all afternoon.
